Area Guides
The Lake District National Park in Cumbria is an area of outstanding beauty stretching from Caldbeck in
the North to Lindale in the South, also from Ravenglass on the West
coast to Shap in the East of Cumbria. The Lake District covers 880
square miles and is Britain's largest National Park. Within this
popular tourist hot-spot, which attracts millions of visitors from all
over the world, is England's highest mountain, Scafell Pike, at a height of 977 metres. As if that isn't enough, you will also find its deepest Lake, Wastwater
at a depth of 86 metres. Both are near St Olaf's Church, which, paradoxically, is
claimed to be England's smallest
church. While the areas inside the Park are truly spectacular, you might want to stay in areas just as beautiful, but perhpas a little less expensive, outside the park. Whatever the case, Lakelets can help you find the best accommodation for your needs.
