Barn House, Braithwaite

Barn House is a unique self catering property in the lovely Lakeland village of Braithwaite, two miles from the Lake District market town of Keswick on Derwentwater. There are three good sized bedrooms - two doubles and a twin room - comfortably sleeping from two to six people. The conversion is of the highest standard, and is highly recommended by previous visitors. The hallway leads to a spacious lounge with original oak beams, an open fire (with screen for children), two comfortable sofas, TV, video, DVD and french doors opening onto the patio. To the side of the lounge is a formal dining area with table and chairs. The large kitchen is fully equipped with an electric cooker with ceramic hob, microwave and all mod cons. There is a table and chairs for more informal dining. Leading from the kitchen is a utility room with washing machine and dryer and a seperate w.c. The property has gas central heating and gas and electrics are included in the letting price. Upstairs there are three good sized bedrooms - two doubles and a twin. The large master bedroom has an iron bed and pine furniture with an outlook from the front of the cottage. There is also a family bathroom with bath, shower, w.c. and sink.

Other recreation Braithwaite is a beautiful, peaceful village overlooked by the Coledale Horseshoe, an impressive semicircle of Lakeland fells which is a famous walking route. Braithwaite has a village shop and two pubs providing home cooked meals and Cumbrian ales.
The historical town of Keswick is close by and has a wide selection of shops, restaurants, cafes, museums and galleries. The famous Theatre by the Lake and the lake itself, Derwentwater are located on the outskirts. Derwentwater isn't the only nearby lake - Bassenthwaite Lake is only 4 miles away and a short (and stunning!) drive through Newlands Valley and over Newlands Pass takes you Buttermere and Crummock water.
